The Butterfly Tree is the iconic symbol for the community of Fort Washington, Maryland. The Tech/Rec Community Center was built on land used as the community garden. The Butterfly Tree emblematically rises from the seeds once planted in the garden and rejoices in the growing community, the breaking of old bonds and the creating of new lives.
